Hooks and nails require the two basic fundamentals of blacksmithing: drawing out and upsetting. Drawing out is the ability to work the material into different, longer shapes. The most common example of this is creating a taper, or to make a point. Upsetting is the opposite to drawing out. Most commonly used in making a nail head.
I use these nails within my furniture so that I can combine my passion from both crafts of wood-working and metal-working.
